Canula Prime, GM Version

The island knows more than the administrators who named it.

Canula Prime is a mid-sized island in the central Mar de Oro region, positioned at the intersection of three major trade routes and directly above one of the densest Fortera field concentrations in the known world. The current population includes company administrators, plantation labor (enslaved and contracted), a Valdegracian naval station, a Church mission with a hospital, a Solarian research outpost (officially a weather station), a fishing village with roots that predate colonial settlement, and a transient population of traders, sailors, smugglers, and people in between arrangements.

What everyone knows

Canula Prime produces the highest-grade Éterlumin in the Mar de Oro region. Convoys leave every six weeks under Valdegracian escort. The island has a Fortera anomaly that makes compass navigation unreliable within three leagues of the main harbor. The Church has declared two minor miracles there in the past forty years. The plantation estate on the high ground is older than the current colonial administration and has changed ownership four times in ninety years.

What the GM knows

LocationOfficial statusWhat it actually is
Plantation estatePrivate agricultural operation, Éterlumin yield licensed.Built directly over the primary source chamber access point.
Weather stationSolarian Church research facility, meteorological focus.Active Fortera monitoring post with sealed communication to the Church archive.
Naval stationValdegracian crown military installation.Forward intelligence post with orders to watch the Church station, not just defend the harbor.
Fishing villagePre-colonial settlement, registered as local labor pool.Primary keeper of oral knowledge about the chamber, distributed across three families.
Harbor chapelStandard colonial Church mission.Drop point for Duchy of Heller intelligence passed through a priest who does not know who he works for.

The chamber access point

The primary access to the Canula Prime source chamber is through a sealed basement under the plantation estate main house. The current estate owner knows the basement exists and has instructions to keep it locked. He has not opened it. The Valdegracian administrator has a key. The Church weather station has a map that predates the colonial estate and shows the access point labeled in a language no current scholar has fully translated.

The original label

The translated portion of the label reads: "maintenance access, authorized personnel only, do not approach during resonance events." The untranslated portion is six words. The best current estimate renders them as: "or the season will answer."
